Dropbox is a free service that allows you to backup and sync files between your computers and mobile devices. Dropbox supports Mac and PC, as well as iPhone, iPad, Android, and BlackBerry devices. For more information, visit dropbox.com.
Road Trip features full Dropbox integration, which allows you to backup and export data directly to your PC or Mac. With Dropbox, you can:

To set up Dropbox in Road Trip, navigated to the Dropbox Settings page (from the Advanced Settings page). Press the Set Up Dropbox button to login to Dropbox. You can use this to either login to an existing Dropbox account, or set up a new Dropbox account.
Once your account is set up, you will see a list of Dropbox options:

Folder Name specifies the subfolder within your Dropbox that contains your Road Trip data. “Road Trip Data” is the default folder name.
Vehicles allows you to choose which vehicles are included or excluded in the backups. All vehicles are included by default.
If Automatic Backup is enabled, Road Trip will automatically backup your data whenever entries are added or modified. Automatic backups occur whenever you exit Road Trip and return to the home screen.
Note: Automatic Backup requires multitasking support and is not available on 1st and 2nd-generation iPhones and iPod Touches.
To update your backups, press the Backup / Export button on the Preferences page, then select Backup to Dropbox.
Road Trip will then display a screen showing the backup progress. Vehicles that have been modified since the last backup are sent to Dropbox. Unmodified vehicles are not sent to Dropbox and will be displayed as “up-to-date”.

A vehicle’s backup status is displayed at the bottom of the Preferences page. If all new entries have been sent to Dropbox, the status will read “Dropbox is up-to-date”.

To force a full backup, go to the Dropbox Settings page, press the Backup Now button, then press Backup All Vehicles. This will send all vehicles to Dropbox, regardless of whether their current backup is up-to-date. The current backup will be archived in the Previous Backups folder in Dropbox.

From the Dropbox Settings Page, press the Restore From Dropbox button to browse your Dropbox folder and restore data. This allows you to navigate through your Dropbox and select the vehicles to restore.

Select the file you wish to restore, then press the Import button to import the vehicle into Road Trip.

Road Trip files are identified with a .roadtrip file extension. Each .roadtrip file contains the data for a single vehicle. Your iPhone will correctly recognize and handle the .roadtrip file type in many applications, including Mail, Safari, and Dropbox, as long as the Road Trip app is installed.
