Road Trip v1.6 introduces support for sharing and merging Road Trip data between multiple iOS devices. Using Dropbox, Road Trip can merge new fuel, expense, and trip entries entered on other iOS devices running Road Trip.

Merge Set Up

To enable merge support, both devices must begin with the same data.

• Begin by setting up Dropbox on both devices, using the same Dropbox account.
• Next, backup your vehicle(s) to Dropbox, then restore these vehicles to your second device. Finally, backup the second device to Dropbox.
• At this point, both devices will have the same data, and your Dropbox should contain backups for both devices:

If Automatic Backup is enabled, both devices will automatically update these files as new entries are created in Road Trip.

Merging New Entries

You can use Road Trip to browse your Dropbox folder and import new entries from another device.

• Open the Dropbox Settings page in Road Trip and press the Restore From Dropbox button to browse your Dropbox.

• Navigate into the device folder you want to merge from, then select the vehicle you want to merge.

• After selecting a vehicle, Road Trip will load the vehicle from Dropbox and give you the option to merge any new data. Press the Merge... button to check for new data.

• Road Trip display a summary of any new entries that can be merged on to your device. You can optionally review the new entries that will be added to your device, and can remove any entries that should not be merged.

• Press the Merge button to complete the merge.

Note: Merge will not modify or remove any existing Road Trip entries on your device. This operation will only create new entries.
